Mercy Me and the Snake Too?

Not your typical start to the week. This morning I bent down to feed the dogs like I do every day. Next thing I know, BAM—one of them (Mercy, I’m looking at you) headbutts me in the face so hard I lose my earbud… and gain five stitches in my lip. As if that wasn’t enough excitement for one day, I walk out the door to go to the ER, look up, and—oh hey—there’s a snake curled up above my front door. Because OBVIOUSLY. Why not throw a serpent in just to complete the chaos?

No-show appointment? Check.

Sore face? Check.

Still bleeding a little? Yep.

Chocolate and Jesus? Double check.

Today has been painful and ridiculous, but I’m still standing. Still laughing (gently). Still covered in grace. “You will tread on the lion and the cobra…” — Psalm 91:13 The enemy tried. But he didn’t keep me down!
