When Doctors Said No, God Said Yes

This journey began when I was just 15 years old, a freshman in high school. I wasn’t growing or developing like most girls my age, and my mom grew concerned. After a few tests with a gynecologist, we discovered that my body had stopped growing at age 12. I had no ovaries and a small, misshapen uterus. Oh, and did I mention I was 4’11”?

That began a year-long journey of tests and medications. I was checked for brain tumors, Turner syndrome, cancer, and so many other conditions. Doctors started me on an estrogen supplement in hopes of jumpstarting my body’s growth. I visited specialists in several cities. One medication triggered a severe allergic reaction that left my stomach covered in a rash.

But then something amazing happened.

By the end of that year, I had grown to 5’5”, and my body was developing like any other 16-year-old girl’s. My doctor wanted to run one final test—just to check for any changes inside. When he called us into the office to go over the results, our hearts sank. Typically, when a doctor asks you to come in for results, it’s not good news.

We braced ourselves. But we were not prepared for what we heard.

The doctor pulled up two images. One was my original MRI—clear as day, showing no ovaries and a misshapen uterus. The second? I didn’t recognize it. He asked me if I knew what it was. I shook my head.

It was my most recent ultrasound, showing a perfectly formed uterus and two beautiful ovaries. And the best part? They were mine.

He looked at me and said, “Medicine can’t make organs appear where there were none. This… this is a miracle.” Then, right in front of us, he wrote the word “MIRACLE” into my medical chart.

He told me to never let another doctor’s opinion override what God has done in my life.

After a few more visits, I was released from his care as a normal, healthy teenage girl.

To this day, I give God all the glory. When doctors said no, God said YES.
